OUR STORY
- Family Run Since 1963 -
Hildur and Sverre Kjevik emigrated from Norway and unexpectedly fell in love with Black Rock Resort. In 1963 they purchased the family-run business because the serenity and beauty of the property reminded them of their Norwegian riverside farm. Their daughter, Karen, carried on their dream for many years. Today, third generation operators Natalie and Daniel continue the family tradition of sharing our Manitoulin Island home with people from around the world.

“A great place to stay. Very friendly owner, Karen. We had an amazing view at the lake, and who needs a pool, when you can swim in such a clear lake?”
“Outstanding location and the proximity of the water, which is one of the inter-connected lake-like inlets from Lake Huron. We only stayed a night but wished we had stayed longer.”

“Awesome. The sunrise was spectacular... well worth the stay."
